Siobhan Magnus Eliminated On 'American Idol'

Michael Lynche and Casey James join her in the bottom three.By Gil Kaufman

Siobhan Magnus performs on "American Idol" Wednesday

Photo: FOX

It's getting to that point in season nine of "American Idol" when it gets hard to guess who will go home every week because the competition has gotten so tight. But a night after Simon Cowell compared her tortured screaming to the sound of a woman giving birth, America decided that it wasn't quite ready for an "Idol" champ as quirky as tattooed glassblower Siobhan Magnus.
After charming the judges and voting public with her offbeat style sense, powerhouse vocals and sometimes sassy backtalk to the judges, Magnus' luck ran out after she closed Tuesday's show with an all-over-the-place take on Shania Twain's "Any Man of Mine."

Magnus was given the boot on a night that was packed with performances from Rascal Flatts, Shakira and Lady Antebellum, and her exit came after more than 33 million votes were lodged Tuesday.
The results began with host Ryan Seacrest creating three groups of two. The first pairing included Magnus and Lee Dewyze, followed by Casey James and Michael Lynche and then Aaron Kelly and Crystal Bowersox. Cutting the tension immediately, Seacrest walked Magnus across the stage for her first trip to the bottom three, alongside Lynche and James.
The first singer sent back to safety was Lynche, who dodged a bullet for the second time this season. "Tonight is different because everyone did well last night, so there's no shame in the bottom three," he said before being sent back to the couches. With James safe, that left the woman Seacrest called an "independent spirit" standing center stage in her salmon-colored miniskirt-and-tank-top combo.
Saying she tried out for the show for her little sisters, Magnus hoped that she had a big impact on them. "I did my best, and I hope that I was able to show them what we're all capable of," she said, clearly holding back some emotion.
Keeping her composure, Magnus went out with a typically sassy run through Aretha Franklin's "Think," which got the final five and the whole audience on their feet and clapping along. It ended, of course, with one of her signature ear-piercing screams and then some hugs for her family, who told her, "You're still our star."
This being a country-themed week, the show kicked off with a live performance from twangy trio Rascal Flatts, who played their cowboy-pop ditty "Unstoppable." Along with the usual time-killing Ford video and some other promotional shenanigans, the first half of the show also featured season-four "Idol" superstar Carrie Underwood flying in from her national tour just to introduce her current opening act, the little-known brotherly band Sons of Sylvia.
Bringing a harder-edge, new-wave country vibe than they displayed during their winning run last year on "The Next Great America Band," the all-black-clad Clark brothers played their debut single, "Love Left to Lose." The tune mixed straightforward radio rock with country touches, including fiddle, mandolin and rocked-out resonator guitar over a thudding backbeat.
With a whole hour to fill, the next break featured ACM winners Lady Antebellum performing their triple-platinum smash "Need You Now." The Fleetwood Mac-like ballad of romantic longing that has helped propel the album of the same name to the best sales figures of any 2010 release found singers Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott trading off yearning vocals as third member Dave Haywood played along on a grand piano in the background.
The night's final performance was a truly odd combo, as hip-shaker Shakira was joined by Flatts for the spare belly-dance/ boot-scooter "Gypsy," which she opened by showing off her harmonica skills. Joined by two dancers, Shakira worked her flowing red skirt and swiveled her hips as she melded her yodely vocals with the high, lonesome sound of Flatts' Gary LeVox.
Next week's mentor will be Harry Connick Jr., who will lead the finalists through the songbook of Frank Sinatra.
What did you think of tonight's elimination? Did Siobhan deserve to go home? Leave your comments below!

Zac Efron Wants To Make 'Relevant' Movies

'I don't want to look back and say I just made movies because it was fun,' 'Charlie St. Cloud' star says.By Kara Warner

Zac Efron

Photo: MTV News

At this point in his career, Zac Efron can take on pretty much any film role, endorsement, reading of the phone book, etc., and his die-hard fans will line up to see him. With such enthusiastic supporters, it could be easy to take them for granted and sign on to whatever project suits his fancy. When MTV News caught up with the teen heartthrob, however, we learned that this is not the case.

When asked why he took on his role in "Charlie St. Cloud," out this Friday, instead of another musical, for example, Efron revealed that he puts a lot of thought into his fans' wishes.
"I was trying to figure that out for so long," Efron admitted. "What do the fans want to see? I could do another musical. I could stick to my guns and try to do more of that. Try and do another cool musical and try to stick with that genre. Is that really what the fans want to see? I mean everyone is like, 'How can you make that transition? How are you going to get the fans to follow you into this new kind of stuff?' "
Efron said he doesn't think it's the responsibility of his fans to follow him, rather it's his responsibility to stay relevant. "The only way that I know how to do that is to stay a little bit ahead of the audience. Experience life, make movies about those experiences, and by the time the audience catches up, and maybe realizes that life isn't always like 'High School Musical,' maybe they will have a movie that helps them through that next challenge that they face in life."
The forward-thinking 22-year-old added that he'd prefer his career to be based in that kind of relevance, rather than what he thinks is fun. "I don't want to look back and say I just made movies because it was fun, you know? I want to make movies because it's challenging and it's an opportunity to help people. Otherwise it's just, you know, kind of selfish, I think."

'The Hills' Musical Legacy: Natasha Bedingfield, Lady Gaga And More

Artists from Hilary Duff to Journey owe a debt to 'Laguna Beach' and its spin-off.By Kyle Anderson

Lady Gaga on "The Hills"

Photo: MTV

Tuesday night (July 13) represents a huge moment in the history of MTV programming and reality television in general. After six seasons, "The Hills" is coming to a close with a two-hour grand-finale event, beginning at 8 p.m. on MTV. It has been a watershed program, as it first established the sort of hyper-real aesthetic that many reality shows (and a handful of fictional dramas) copied. But "The Hills" and its predecessor, "Laguna Beach," also left their mark in the music world.
Each of the shows had theme songs that helped spark massive career moves for the artists behind them. The theme song to "Laguna Beach" was Hilary Duff's "Come Clean," co-written by Kara DioGuardi and John Shanks. Though it originally appeared on Duff's 2003 album, Metamorphosis, and was released as a single in early 2004, it really picked up steam once it accompanied the premiere of "Laguna Beach" in September of that year. It peaked at #9 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart and earned Duff a shortlist recommendation (though no actual nomination) for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards.
"The Hills" theme song did even better by its artist. When Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" debuted as the tune that introduced the world to "The Hills" in May 2006, it stormed up the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #5. In fact, because of its crossover appeal, "Unwritten" became the most-played song on the radio in the United States in 2006. Not bad for a track that was originally released in 2004 on Bedingfield's debut album of the same name.
"The Hills" also gave the world some early exposure to Lady Gaga. Before Gaga's debut album, The Fame, took over the airwaves, she performed at a fashion show where Conrad and friend Whitney Port styled her. Gaga was even the subject of a minor plot in that episode, as the zipper of her catsuit broke, forcing Conrad to repair it and save the day.
But perhaps the most lasting musical legacy of "The Hills" is actually a moment from "Laguna Beach." The second-season premiere of "Laguna Beach" (which aired in July 2005) featured a scene wherein castmember Stephen Colletti picks Conrad up for a date. The song playing in Stephen's car during the scene? Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," which had yet to receive its second renaissance thanks to the series finale of "The Sopranos" (which didn't air until two years later). Exposure on "Laguna Beach" (along with its appearance on a "Family Guy" episode the same week) sent the track skyrocketing into the iTunes Top 10, an amazing feat for a song that was nearly 25 years old.
What was your favorite musical moment from "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills"? Let us know in the comments!
Join MTVNews.com on Tuesday, July 13, at 8 p.m. ET for a live stream from the red carpet of Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel, where the stars will gather for "The Hills Live: A Hollywood Ending." Then tune in for the series finale at 10 p.m. ET on MTV and "The Hills Live: A Hollywood Ending After Show" at 11.

Eminem, Rihanna Top New Ultimate Chart

'Love the Way You Lie' is #1 on BigChampagne's chart, which factors Internet popularity into its rankings.By Kyle Anderson

Eminem

Photo: Robyn Beck/ AFP/ Getty Images

For half a century, the Billboard Hot 100 has been thought to be the most accurate bellwether of what the biggest songs are. Every week, it takes into account radio airplay and singles sales, puts those numbers into a complicated formula and determines which tracks are becoming ubiquitous and which ones are falling off.
But in the modern era, a song's airplay and sales numbers don't necessarily tell the whole story, as songs are streamed on YouTube, watched on MTV, posted to Facebook, downloaded through countless blogs and searched for on Google. With that in mind, BigChampagne — an organization that has spent years tracking music on the Internet — has come up with the Ultimate Chart, a listing that synthesizes the statistics from all the various places you can hear music and determines which songs are truly the biggest in the virtual world.
The chart itself is the result of hard statistics and human analysis. "The Ultimate Chart is a chart for the 21st century, based on a scalable technology platform developed over more than ten years," reads the introduction on the site. "We collect billions of points of data, online and off. Our machines are very clever but our analysts are too. Real people grade the computers' work to ensure accuracy. We collect more relevant information from more sources than anyone ever has, by our count."
The big winners on the new chart include Eminem and Rihanna, whose "Love the Way You Lie" (from Eminem's Recovery) is listed as the #1 song, just ahead of Katy Perry's "California Gurls" (which has had a stranglehold on the Billboard chart for more than a month). Shakira also fares extremely well, as her "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" comes in at #3. That track is an excellent example of how a song can transcend the normal parameters of the other chart, because while the radio airplay for Shakira's tune wasn't great, it was still streamed online and searched for around the world due to its connection to the World Cup.
A lot of the usual suspects are still represented on the Ultimate Chart. For example, Justin Bieber rules just as he does on the Hot 100, though his highest-charting tune on the Ultimate Chart remains "Baby," even though "Somebody to Love" is finishing higher on the Billboard version. It wouldn't be shocking if "Baby" earned that spot due to the surge in YouTube views of the video. Bieber's YouTube rival Lady Gaga is also well represented on the Ultimate Chart, with three songs ("Alejandro," "Bad Romance" and "Telephone") all in the top 20.
The Ultimate Chart also tracks the most ubiquitous artists based on airplay, streams, searches and social-network followers and friends. Eminem tops that chart as well, followed by Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Shakira and Drake, which is a deadly accurate assessment of the pop music landscape.
What do you think of the Ultimate Chart? Do you agree with its results? Let us know in the comments!

Christina Milian, The-Dream Expecting A Baby

After marrying last month in Las Vegas, actress/singer announced the couple is expecting their first child.By Jocelyn Vena

Christina Milian

Photo: Bennett Raglin/ WireImage

Singer Christina Milian announced on Friday that she and her husband, The-Dream, are expecting their first child, according to People magazine.
"My husband and I are expecting," said Milian, who the magazine notes is already sporting a baby bump. "We're about four and a half months along, about 19 weeks. We're really excited."
The couple married last month in Las Vegas, and soon after, rumors, began to surface that the newlyweds were also expecting a bundle of joy. They were also rumored to have had a second wedding ceremony in Rome.
Until now they have been mum about the rumors and Milian explains that neither the wedding nor the baby have come too soon for the couple. "Honestly, it was kind of planned," she said. "We were engaged for many months."
And although Milian worked with her new husband on her upcoming album, Elope, which was titled before the couple were married and is due out by the beginning of next year, she said the album title had nothing to do with their romance.
"Actually, the name change came ... I don't know if I was engaged yet, but it really didn't have anything to do with that. 'it [was] more so' about taking a step as a woman and making decisions on my own and doing things without necessarily the permission of others. And I think that's really more about adulthood and coming into adulthood," she explained about the title's significance. "I think that's where we came up with that one."

Chris Brown Melts Down During BET Awards Michael Jackson Tribute

Singer dances flawlessly but is overcome by emotion when time comes to sing.By Rochell Thomas

Chris Brown at the 2010 BET Awards

Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images

When Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo and New Edition were performing tributes to Michael Jackson during last year's BET Awards show, Chris Brown was nowhere to be found, even though many felt he was an obvious choice to honor the fallen legend. Brown's assault on Rihanna several months earlier presumably kept him out of the show.

On Sunday night (June 27), Brown finally got his chance to publicly honor the man he idolized -- and while his dancing was flawless, when the time came for him to sing, he simply fell apart.
After being introduced by Jermaine Jackson, Brown beautifully channeled Michael as he danced to "Remember the Time," "Smooth Criminal" and "Billie Jean." Yet when he grabbed a mic to sing "Man in the Mirror," he choked up, visibly weeping.
"I'm gonna make a change for once in my ..." Brown's voice trailed off. He was out of breath and sounded hoarse. Tears stained his cheeks as he paced the stage, holding the microphone by his side. "This ... wind is blowing my ... Who am I to..." He clearly knew the lyrics but they failed to come out.
Brown faded in and out of the song, closing his eyes, grimacing, trying to soldier on. Whether it was the emotion of the moment or the past 16 months, Brown struggled and failed to find his voice, even though the pre-recorded backing vocals played on.
Finally, he gave up, raised a bandaged finger to the sky and fell to his knees as Michael Jackson's voice could be heard saying, "I'm starting with the man in the mirror." The camera cut from Brown to an audience member who clearly uttered "Oh my God," in shock.
The audience loudly sang the words that Brown could not. Their aid seemed to move Brown to rise from his knees and mouth the words along with Jackson's voice, while gesturing along with the mic as tears rolled down his face. In the audience, actress Taraji P. Henson could be seen mouthing, "That's all right baby," as Brown walked offstage to Jermaine Jackson, who moved to console him.
Brown's emotional performance echoed through the rest of the show. When Niecy Nash came onstage to present the Video of the Year award, she said, "When Chris Brown started crying I got choked up."
Backstage, "a lot of folks were getting misty-eyed, understanding that he was overwhelmed with emotion," BET publicist Zabrina Horton said. "Me, personally, I think 'Man in the Mirror' was great for him to do because I'm sure he still feels bad about Rihanna and wants to be forgiven. He has to make that change himself for himself and he knows that."
Later in the show, when accepting the AOL Fandemonium prize, which measures an artist's "online and mobile fan power," Brown spoke briefly.
"I didn't really prepare a speech because I didn't really think I was gonna be backstage," he said. "But bottom line, I couldn't never do this without my fans. Team Breezy, all the support I've been getting from day one.
"I just wanna say one thing,' he concluded. "I let y'all down before but I won't do it again, I promise. I love y'all, good night."

Lady Gaga's Summer Jam Victory: Readers React

'I love most of the songs that were nominated, but 'Alejandro' is my favorite,' one fan wrote.By Kyle Anderson

Lady Gaga

Photo: Interscope Records

On Tuesday, Lady Gaga not only chatted with Larry King and unveiled the preview for her latest envelope-pushing video, but she also won yet another accolade. "Alejandro," the latest single from Gaga's The Fame Monster, took home the top prize in the MTV News Summer Jam 2010 poll, beating out strong contenders like Katy Perry's "California Gurls" and Usher's chart-topping "OMG." And while there were a handful of write-in votes and protests, most readers were enthusiastic about the crowning of the official song of summer.
"I knew she'd win," reader Kayla posted in the comments section. "I love most of the songs that were nominated, but Lady Gaga's 'Alejandro' is my favorite." Shane said he was happily surprised at the success of Gaga's latest single. " 'Alejandro' is one of Gaga's best songs. I was kind of disappointed when she chose it as a single because it doesn't sound like something that mainstream American idiots can absorb. But how shocked was I!"
Reader Brandon saw the coronation of "Alejandro" as an official summer jam as the next logical step in Gaga's growing legacy. " 'Alejandro' is truly a summer song. The summer song of 2010 needs to be pop," he wrote. "Pop is what has dominated the charts for the past year. And who has been at the top of the charts for the past two years? Lady Gaga, of course."
Still, there were a handful of people who thought that despite the growing popularity of "Alejandro," it didn't have the right kind of feel to be a summer song. "I don't see how this is a summer jam," wrote jarthon. " I hear 'Alejandro' and I feel depressed. The beat is just too slow to be good for the summer."
In addition to her devoted fans, Gaga herself expressed excitement over the ascension of "Alejandro." "MTV voted ALEJANDRO Song of the Summer little monsters!" she wrote on her Twitter page. A few minutes later, she corrected herself. "So apparently the WIN: ALEJANDRO AS SUMMMER SONG 2010 was due to my rabid and luminous fans, not MTV, although they held the wonderful contest," she wrote.
Are you satisfied with Gaga's win? Keep up the summer songs debate in the comments below.

When Chris Evans suits up as Captain America for "Captain America: The First Avenger," due out next summer, there will be several incarnations of his costume throughout the movie.
"So far, so good. I think it's a process. I've been working on other projects, so there hasn't been as much time as I would have liked to be in London and kind of go through trial by error to make it the best, most comfortable thing in the world," he told MTV News at Comic-Con in San Diego about his fittings thus far for the outfits he will wear as Captain America in the flick.

Travie McCoy Joins Rihanna, Ke$ha On Last Girl Tour

Gym Class Heroes frontman hits the road with the ladies for tour kicking off July 2.By Mawuse Ziegbe

Travie McCoy

Gym Class Heroes' Travie McCoy will hit the road with pop princesses Rihanna and Ke$ha on this summer's Last Girl on Earth Tour, which kicks off on July 2 in Auburn, Washington. The tour will crisscross the U.S. and Canada and wrap up on August 28 in Syracuse, New York.
McCoy's addition to the lineup comes after the tour was originally announced in April as a girl-power outing, with Young Money's Nicki Minaj as one of the openers. Minaj later dropped out of the tour, saying she was going to focus on wrapping up her debut instead.
"Barbz I'm sorry 2 say I will not be going out on RiRi's tour. I've decided 2 use that time 4 the completion of my album. Hope u understand," the star tweeted just days after the tour was announced.
McCoy will rock stages this summer in support of his solo debut, Lazarus, which features the single "Billionaire" with Bruno Mars. The hip-rock star — who goes by Travie instead of Travis for his solo work — premiered the video for his new single "The Manual" featuring T-Pain and Young Cash online on Friday.
Travie recently told MTV's Buzzworthy that the solo effort is just one of the many side projects he tinkers with while still being a part of the Gym Class Heroes.
"Since the beginning of Gym Class Heroes, we've all kind of had side projects," he said. "This is just an extension of that."

Shakira Unveils 'Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)'

Track is the official song of the 2010 World Cup and will benefit public health centers in Africa.By James Montgomery

Photo: JEWEL SAMAD/ AFP/ Getty Images

Fresh off her duet with Rascal Flatts frontman Gary LeVox on Wednesday night's "American Idol," Shakira has unveiled yet another collaboration ... this one set to take place on an even bigger stage (yes, that's actually possible).
On her official site, she's just posted a track called "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)," which will serve as the official theme for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, set to kick off June 11 in South Africa.
The track — a collabo between Shaki and South African Afro-fusion band Freshlyground — was co-produced by John Hill, who most recently produced a pair of songs from her 2009 album She Wolf. Like much of her work, it's a poly-sonic affair: According to a statement on her site, the chorus of the song borrows from a favorite Cameroonian marching chant that was popularized by the group Golden Voices.
Shakira and Freshlyground will perform "Waka Waka" at the World Cup closing ceremonies, held before the final match on July 11 in Johannesburg Soccer City Stadium. The song will be available for download through digital retailers the week of May 11, and will also be included on Listen Up! The Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Album, set to be released the week of May 31 by Sony Music Entertainment. A Spanish-language version of the track will also be available.
Proceeds from the sale of the album will benefit FIFA's "20 Centers for 2010" initiative, which aims to achieve positive social change through football (that's "soccer" to us Americans) by building 20 "Football for Hope" public health centers across Africa.
In addition to her performance at the closing ceremonies, Shakira will also be one of the headline performers at the official FIFA World Cup Kick-off Celebration Concert on June 10, broadcast from Orlando Stadium in Soweto/Johannesburg South Africa. A video for "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" is also set to debut in mid-May.

Eminem, Justin Bieber Are Rare Exceptions As Album Sales Fall

Sales are down 11 percent over same period last year.By Gil Kaufman

Thanks to Eminem, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Lady Antebellum, record sales for the first half of 2010 weren't totally in the toilet. But strong sellers from those artists only helped slow the bleeding of an industry that has suffered declining annual sales for much of the past decade.
According to midyear figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan on Thursday, overall U.S. album sales fell 11 percent in the first six months of the year to 213.7 million, down from the 232.8 million in sales during the same period in 2009. Between January 4 and July 4 physical album sales fell to 154 million, down from the 172.9 million over the same 26-week period in 2009.
But while CD sales were sliding again, digital album sales were up by 13.7 million to 42 million. Sales of digital tracks were mostly flat, down .2 percent to 597 million.
"Strong releases in 2010 have helped to slow the decline of new album sales," said David Bakula, senior VP of analytics at Nielsen Entertainment, in a statement. "Albums by Eminem, Justin Bieber, Lady [Antebellum], Lady Gaga and Sade have each sold more than a million copies so far this year, and Lady A's Need You Now has sold more than 2.3 million albums, surpassing last year's best seller of this time period by a million units."
Eminem's Recovery quickly passed the 1 million mark in two weeks and Drake's Thank Me Later appears poised to reach that watermark within the month. Things are likely to be even more grim in the second half of the year in light of 2009's second-half sales boost in the wake of Michael Jackson's June 2009 death. After the King of Pop's passing, fans snatched up millions of his solo and Jackson 5 CDs and digital tracks, boosting sales figures in an otherwise flat period.
Jackson could help out again in the fall if a promised album of previously unreleased material hits shelves in time for the holidays. That LP, along with albums from T.I., Kanye West and Katy Perry in the coming months, could help boost the industry's bottom line.

Michael Jackson's Brother Jermaine Celebrates King Of Pop On 'Larry King'

The Jackson family still hasn't 'come to terms' with MJ's death a year later, Jermaine says.By Eric Ditzian

On June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson's family and friends gathered at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, California, to lay the King of Pop to rest in the Grand Mausoleum. Almost one year later, shortly before the actual anniversary of his death, MJ's brother Jermaine returned to the site to tape an interview with Larry King.

"It's been tough," Jermaine told the talk-show host. "It went so fast. We've been just putting the pieces together and the family's been having a lot of meetings and we're just trying to hold on. We haven't come to terms. It's something we're learning to live with. We will never accept it."
Speaking softly and quietly, Jackson said the inside of the mausoleum is dark and cold. "To walk this corridor, and all you hear is your footsteps. Michael shouldn't be here. I always felt that," he said, adding that MJ should have been buried at his Neverland Ranch estate.
A year later, Jackson said Michael's three children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, are enjoying as normal a life as possible. They love movies, Jermaine said, though he is not sure if they've seen "This Is It," the documentary about Michael's final months as he prepared for what were to be his comeback shows in London. Jermaine also revealed that they do not visit their father's gravesite at Forest Lawn.
Each of the family members, Jackson said, continues to grieve in their own ways. And they continue to raise questions about the circumstances surrounding MJ's death. Jermaine acknowledged that numerous interventions had been made concerning Michael's use of various prescription medications but denied any suggestion that his brother did not want to live. Rather, Jermaine said the family believes Michael was murdered and that Dr. Conrad Murray, the singer's personal physician who was charged with involuntary manslaughter as a result of MJ's propofol overdose, is not the sole person responsible for the death.
"All of us feel that he's the fall guy," Jermaine said. "It's higher up than just the doctor.
"He did say on numerous occasions, at times to my mother, that he felt that he was being threatened, someone was trying to kill him," Jermaine added about his brother.
While the Jackson family awaits the start of Murray's trial, which they plan to attend, they lament the way the pop singer has been treated by the media, the public and prosecutors in the years before his death.
"If you listen to the content of his lyrics and his music, that's what he is, that's what he wrote from his heart, from his soul," Jackson said. "And it's sad, because now people realize what kind of person he was all along. But he's not here to see that. He got a bum rap because he was so misunderstand. He was trying to take the world on his shoulders and to bring an awareness to the world of what we need to do as people."

Megan Fox To Film Eminem, Rihanna Video Cameo Thursday

From shots taken at the "Love the Way You Lie" music video shoot, we know that Rihanna and Eminem are burning down the house in the clip. And according to E! News, Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan will be burning up the bedroom in the steamy clip.
The video's couple, reportedly played by Monaghan and Fox, will be on-set Thursday and Friday. "Things start off with a sex scene between Megan and Dominic," a source tells E! Online about the "gritty" video. "Then they fight but end up having sex again."
The relationship between the pair will reportedly also have "lots of passion." Sources say it will play out the way Eminem's relationship with ex-wife Kim played out in real life. While some photos show Rihanna standing in hot pants and a tank top and leather jacket in front of a burning house, reports also say that Eminem "was later seen ... performing together with Rihanna in front of the burning house."
And while on set Wednesday, where photos of the shoot leaked to the media, the video's director, Joseph Kahn, took to Twitter to express his frustration with the photographers who were taking pictures of the video shoot. "Paparazzi, stop trying to ruin my shots," he wrote. "Thank you."
No word yet on when the video will be released, and Fox's cameo in the clip has yet to be confirmed. However, Kahn tweeted about Monaghan's appearance in what is turning out to be a very fiery clip. "First choice: Charlie from Lost. Dom, let's do this," he wrote.

'Twilight' And 'Priest' Only Have Vampires In Common, Cam Gigandet Says

'It's not like a 'vampire film'; there's so much more to it,' 'Priest' co-star Karl Urban tells MTV News at Comic-Con.By Kara Warner

SAN DIEGO — Ever since he lit up the screen as delightfully devious "Twilight" villain James, Cam Gigandet's career has been on the rise. When MTV News caught up with him during Comic-Con on Friday (July 23), we asked about his character in the upcoming "Priest" — which is based on the celebrated comic book series — and, since the film coincidentally involves vampires, if he had any hesitation in taking on the part.

"I play Sheriff Hicks," he said. "I'm the sheriff of a small town where my girlfriend gets kidnapped by this pack of vampires, so I enlist Paul Bettany's, Priest's, help, and we are on the road to find and rescue her."
Gigandet said that, although there are vampires involved in the movie, fans expecting the romantic "Twilight"-style vamps will be in for a shock.
"It's very, very different from 'Twilight,' " he said. "The similarities kind of end with what they're called, which is vampires."
Gigandet said the world of "Priest," directed by Scott Charles Stewart, is also entirely different. "The world Scott created is kind of unlike any other," he said. "Sometimes it was hard to visualize what he had in his mind, but I've seen clips, and its unbelievable. ... Just to work with all of these people, they're such an amazing cast. I didn't have any doubts [about taking on another vampire-related role]."
Gigandet's co-star, "Star Trek" star Karl Urban, said he's never seen a movie like this. "This is a post-apocalyptic vampire western," he said. "The emphasis isn't heavily on the fact — it's not like a 'vampire film'; there's so much more to it."
As far as what "Twilight" fans can expect to see, and fans of the original comic book, Gigandet and his co-stars said there is something for everyone in the film, because it is emotional and character-driven.
"[There are] so many different levels, and so many people are doing things that sacrifice for all sorts of love," Gigandet said. "It's not just one set love story. There are so many different levels going on."
"Priest" is set to open in May 2011.

Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him

'I have not been approached to fill in for Robert Plant on the Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be,' singer says.By Chris Harris

Chris Cornell

Photo: MTV News

Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has spoken out for the first time about rumors that he's been asked to fill in for Robert Plant on a proposed Led Zeppelin reunion tour. The trek would feature original guitarist Jimmy Page, original bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham taking over on drums for his late father, John Bonham.
Cornell has been mentioned — along with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, White Stripes mastermind Jack White and Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy — as a potential Plant fill-in. Plant has already said that he wouldn't take part in the tour.

"I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour."
Cornell's denial comes just a day after Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford confirmed reports that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert."
Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played a single reunion set last year at London's O2 Arena. Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant.
According to Snider, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' "
"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."
In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there."
But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."
Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming Timbaland-produced solo LP, Scream, will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider Scream something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way.
"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] Euphoria Morning, my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like.
"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."

With filming of the fourth chapter in the "Scream" franchise under way in Michigan, fans are hard-pressed to find out new details about the fourth film's notoriously mysterious plotline. However, when MTV News recently caught up with Hayden Panettiere, she said she's confident the filmmakers are doing the previous movies justice and that the process so far has been a blast.
"I think it's just perfect timing, the amount of time that has passed since the last one came out," the former "Heroes" star told MTV News. "It's a perfect setup, with all of these films ... the [fictional] 'Stab' [movies] and all the things like that. I think with all of the 'Scream' [films], the idea is to throw the audience for a loop every time."

Panettiere acknowledged that for savvy audiences, the surprise factor is an even bigger challenge this time around.
"For an audience that is so well-versed in 'Scream' [films] and in what happens and who becomes the killer, blah, blah, blah, it's trickier to throw them a curveball," she said. "I think they've done a really cool job with the script. We've had a blast on it."
Panettiere also heaped praise on her castmates and director Wes Craven. "Wes Craven is, he not only is the nicest human being, but he's a brilliant director. And it's all the original cast as well: Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox and David Arquette. We've got an incredible new cast that's come in, and we have a pretty good team."
The spunky actress said she couldn't reveal too much about her character Kirby, only that she's "edgy, sassy and smart. She's a very strong character."
Other key players in the star-studded cast include Emma Roberts, Rory Culkin, Adam Brody, Anthony Anderson and Marley Shelton. "Scream 4" is scheduled to open April 15, 2011.
