"So You Think You Can Dance" judge/choreographer Adam Shankman is a busy bee these days. In addition to his face time on the Fox reality hit, he and his sister/ producing partner Jennifer Gibgot have a slew of projects in the works, including the Justin Long/ Drew Barrymore rom-com "Going the Distance," the live-action "Tinkerbell" movie, and, opening this week, "Step Up 3D." When MTV caught up with the energetic director/choreographer at the Hollywood premiere of the highly anticipated dance flick, we asked him if he'd have time to take on producing the Oscars again next year.

"What about the Oscars?" he asked, seemingly wondering the same thing. "We're up for Emmys for the Oscars. In order to go to the Emmys, I had to produce the Oscars," he said. "It's ironic and true."
Ironic, indeed. But would he take on another year of producing the Academy Awards?
"I would do another Oscars," Shankman admitted. "Do you know who told me they'd like to do the Oscars with me? ['Glee' creator] Ryan Murphy," he revealed. "Ryan Murphy said he wanted to produce the Oscars with me." Shankman went on to say that he and Murphy have similar styles and that Murphy thinks they would make a great producing team. "[Murphy] said, 'We would do a really good Oscars together!' It would be very interesting," Shankman said, appearing to mull over the idea as he spoke. "We're both very old Hollywood glam buffs."
Shankman and Murphy certainly have the choreography/ stage production chops to tackle the Oscars. Shankman is up for a choreography Emmy Award for last year's showstopping Academy Awards opening number, "No One Wants to Do It Alone & Score Suite," with host Neil Patrick Harris. His competition includes his "SYTYCD" cohorts Mia Michaels and Stacey Tookey, along with "Dancing With the Stars" pros Derek Hough and Chelsie Hightower (a former "SYTYCD" contestant).
Murphy, a TV writing/ directing/ music producing veteran ("Nip/Tuck"), wowed audiences with "Glee" and landed a whopping 19 Emmy nominations.
What do you think of a Shankman/Murphy Oscar telecast? Tell us in the comments.
