Betty White is turning down a younger man. The 89-year-old actress was forced to decline an invite to the Marine Corps Ball, due to a scheduling conflict.
"I am deeply flattered and truly appreciate the invitation," she said Monday, in response to Sgt. Ray Lewis' offer. "As everyone knows, I love a man in uniform...But unfortunately I cannot accept, as I will be taping an episode of Hot in Cleveland."
Last week Friends with Benefits costars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake accepted invitations to accompany marines to two separate balls, after they asked them out via YouTube videos. But, unfortunately Sgt. Ray Lewis didn't get quite as lucky.
But all hope isn't lost for Lewis. White's late husband was a member of the army, which means he may still have a chance to win her over on another occasion. Maybe she'll try to make it up to him in the future!
