His humanitarian efforts in Haiti have been well-documented, and Sean Penn talked with Ann Curry on the ?Today? show to explain what he?s been up to as of late.
The ?Mystic River? actor held a benefit dinner at the 65th Cannes Film Festival last week to raise money for his organization, and he?s not even close to being done.
Curry asked Penn why, after many other groups and people have stopped worrying about Haiti, he?s still going strong.
Sean explained, ?Because the job hasn?t done. They?ve had every exploitation happen to them, every invasion happen to them, every dictatorship happen to them, and now there?s this new world where things can change. It?s a magic moment; it?s an exciting time to be working in Haiti.?
As for his reputation for being a tough boss while working in Haiti, Penn noted, ?I don?t control my temper well, I guess.?
